VRA was to design a trend-setting warm water teaching pool within an existing single-storey commercial facility with a limited construction budget.
Renovation/Repurposing of existing facility into Manitoba’s private teaching pool facility. The project was completed as a Design-Build project with Ernst Hansch and Commercial Pools of Winnipeg. The pool is a concrete tank designed as a warm water basin with operating temperatures of 88 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The flow of overall planning considers the client/bather-focused experience with ample accessible change areas, an efficient pool and deck, a viewing room for observers/parents, and lifeguard/faculty space.
